Math Books Kids Will Love!

As my kids have gotten older, I have found it more and more difficult to find fun and entertaining math books for them.

The Summer Slump

Many of you I'm sure are very aware of what is known as the 'Summer Slump'.  If you are not familiar with this term, it refers to the loss of critical reading and basic math skills over the course of summer vacation from school.

It happened to my daughter ...

... and boy was it rocky going for the first two months of 1st grade.  We managed to get her reading and math skills back up, so everything was smooth sailing from there.  But then summer vacation between 1st and 2nd grade happened.  We kept on top of things, but it was hard.  The parenting phrase of 'pick your battles' was constantly coming to mind.  But my daughter and I were just butting heads a lot of the time.  She just did NOT want to do math worksheets!

There is a time and place for 'school like' worksheets, and it's during school time!

Summer vacation, for many kids, is not when they want to see more worksheets.  So what can you offer them?  I put much thought into this, and many hours of searching, and I just could not find a book I thought would work for my daughter.  That's when I decided to write one myself!

Brain Flexor is presented in a cartoon style format, with questions ranging in difficulty from very easy to very challenging.

It is best for students at Third Grade level and higher.

Many adults trying their hand at some of these questions found them very challenging, whereas their kids had simple solutions to the same questions.  For the most part it was because they had too much math, and were approaching the questions in an overly complicated manor!

So this book has certainly proven itself entertaining as an after dinner family activity.

I hope you enjoy it!

If you chose to purchase it, I hope it brings you and your student much enjoyment.  Don't forget to leave a comment on K6Math.com's Facebook Page!
