Your child must be comfortable with each of these skills. If they are not, please don't move forward until they have them mastered. It will just cause a lot of stress and anxiety for both of you.

Once you are confident your kid can manage these skills it's time to move on to dividing mixed numbers.

Tidy up by adding what you can - you are now simply dividing fractions | ||

Remember - to divide by a fraction is the same as multiplying by its inverse! | ||

If your result is an improper fraction, rewrite it as a mixed number, to put it in it's smallest terms. | ||
